Happy Thursday.
It's live. The Diligent Observer Exclusive opened this morning.
For over a year now, subscribers have asked me questions like “Are any of these companies still raising?” and “What else are you seeing?” and “How do I get connected with the founder?”
Well, now there’s a way. Every Tuesday, on top of the Thursday deals you already get, Exclusive members see:
Previously featured companies that are still raising, the day I confirm the round is still open
A memo on each deal
Each company's deck, plus a personal introduction to the founder when you want it
My take on each one
Private opportunities that come to me directly
24/7 access to the whole thing through a simple portal
I’m launching The Exclusive at a founding member rate for just the first 25 participants. If you've already reserved a seat, don’t worry, I’ve got your spot saved!
On to today’s issue:

🔥 Angel Deals of the Week
Angel funding rounds announced in recent weeks, compiled from public sources or via direct announcement. These deals represent the elite few that survived an angel network’s vetting process. Note: I have not personally analyzed these companies and am sharing for informational purposes only.
📊 Angel Network Investment Tracker: 215 Deals, 111 Networks.
AccuBreath | Developer of portable emergency ventilators
Participating Group: Park City Angels
AccuBreath is developing a handheld ventilator designed to replace the bag valve mask, a manual device used in emergencies to assist breathing that the company says can cause lung damage. Park City Angels recently announced an investment to support the product's advancement through the FDA's 510(k) pathway, a route for clearing devices similar to ones already on the market.

Participating Group: Atlanta Technology Angels
Connexus is developing an AI-powered platform that unifies real estate procurement, contracts, vendor management, and compliance into a single system for property owners and operators. The company says its platform brings efficiency and cost savings to a manual, fragmented workstream tied to vendor sourcing and contract management. Atlanta Technology Angels recently announced its support for the South Carolina-based startup, backing founder Devin Wirt and the team as they work to expand the platform across the multifamily, commercial, and hospitality real estate sectors.

🃏 Pulling a CRAZY RARE business card: I’m dying. Hilarious short from Good Work this week. I recently discovered there’s a whole world of creators where all they do is open sealed trading cards for a living, so this is particularly timely.
🏗️ Pro Rata? No Thanks: Thoughtful contrarian take. Hunter Walk says it’s better to effectively skip reserves, focus on getting more shots on goal, and let secondaries handle the rest.
📊 A Workforce Splitting in Two: Lenny Rachitsky and Noam Segal just released their second annual survey on how tech workers feel about their jobs and careers. Piles of really interesting data here, but one tidbit that stood out to me: “Only 22% worry about ‘losing my job to AI.’ Far more worry about being expected to do more for the same pay (51%)…”
🥇 The Nugget: My Top Takeaway from A Conversation with Ben Woolf
Israel is basically a giant R&D lab.
Ben framed it pretty directly: Israel is not a place to scale a company. It's where a founder develops and validates new technology before shipping it to the world.
From Ben: "Israel is not a place that you can scale. If someone makes a product here, it's going to be sold abroad."
Takeaway: For tech companies based in the region, it is extremely important to ask: "Where is the exit market and does this team have a path there?"
P.S. “Tachlis,” a Hebrew word that roughly translates to “get to the bottom line,” is my new favorite word.
